I am enjoying this summer immensely and I hope you all are too! My mom is retired, I have a small break before work and my girl is her silly, sweet self. Here are some pinterest images that I am loving as well as some pictures from our summer:
This made me think of a quote from one of my favorite books, The Help: "Because ain't that white people for you, wondering if they are happy
enough" While the book is about race and the difference (or lack thereof) between the races, it made me think that it could easily be applicable to our society today ... people walking around asking if they are happy enough, do they have enough, what more can they attain so that they will FINALLY be happy.

I love this quote. I sincerely wish our pastor would have read this aloud at our wedding ceremony.

Brooke & I have started praying before we fall asleep. I hope to memorize and teach this one to her (trying to find easy prayers for her to memorize)

& this is my absolute favorite. I want to print this and hand it to Brooke when she's in her moody teenage years ;)

Other summer endeavors include bright orange nail polish on chubby feet:

Long, sleepy eyelashes

Hot afternoons at the park

Juice drinking to cool down...
That prayer is so sweet! The parenting poster is amazing. Love it!

ReplyDeleteAw, I love that sweet prayer. Perfect sleep shot, too! :)
ReplyDeleteThat first quote is SO true! We are such a materialistic society.
ReplyDeleteLove that one to couples as well. It has a lot of meaning behind it. I think that should be apart of all vows.
Actually all the quotes and this prayer are great! I want to memorize that one to teach it to my youngest.
Oh...that is perfect. I think I'll print that out and give it to my 12 year old.
Have a great week!
Love the prayer! How sweet.
ReplyDeleteYour sweet girl's toenails are precious!

ReplyDeleteAnd your little girl is so cute! The photo of her sleeping is so precious!

Oh YAY I'm so happy I came across your blog. I'm relatively new to the mom blogging world and rarely see mommy bloggers who are also from Hawaii!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful site. I'm following now and looking forward to reading more.
These are great! I love all the quotes. And that bedtime prayer is perfect. My 5 year old and I were just talking about a new bedtime prayer cause he's a little tired of the one we've been doing for 5 years ;)
